IMI Certification

GS Yuasa academy is accredited by The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), the professional association for individuals working in the motor industry.

Once you have completed all courses on GS Yuasa Academy you will be eligible for IMI membership and certification.

Membership of the IMI, the automotive industry’s professional body, includes:

  • An IMI printed Certificate of Recognition for GS Yuasa Academy completion posted to you
  • A membership certificate and membership card
  • Post nominal letters to use after your name

The cost to apply for IMI certification and membership through GS Yuasa Academy is only £55. This covers set up and your first year’s membership.

Upon completion of the checkout process, your details will be passed to the IMI and your membership will be set up – you will become an IMI member. In order to claim your membership, you will need to opt in via an IMI email link that will be sent to you. From this point, your membership will be directly with the IMI.

Please be aware that if you are learning as part of a company team, your organisation may cover the cost of the IMI certificate and membership. Please speak to your team or company leader to find out more before placing your order.

IMI founding

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) was founded in 1920 when society – as now – was experiencing rapid technology-driven change. The IMI was created to establish new skills and knowledge benchmarks for the emerging automotive industry.
